History
The first stage of HTAS, still under the name of PPS - Automotive (until the beginning of September 2006) has been focused on developing a vision for the future of the Dutch automotive sector and identifying the key areas that provide significant opportunities and contribute strongly to the competitiveness of the Dutch Automotive Industry. The vision is supported by a strong ambition of the Dutch automotive industry to increase its annual revenues from 12 bn Euro to 20 bn Euro within 10 years. Based on these innovation areas, focus meetings with relevant parties have been organised in order to further evaluate all innovation areas and to focus on those areas with excellent competencies of the Dutch automotive sector and significant future growth opportunities.
A Focus document was developed that expresses the preliminary results of the forming of HTAS: a focused ambition. This Focus document can be seen as the prelude for the Innovation Programme.
In August 2006, this document was presented to the Dutch Ministry of Economic affairs. Subsequently, an Innovation Programme was developed, accompanied by the intended organisation, the budget of HTAS and the commitment of the partners. Focus areas are “Driving Guidance” and “Vehicle Efficiency”. The Ministry of Economic Affairs assigned HTAS in May 2007. Click here for the “HTAS Innovation Programme”.
